Gemini
Gemini is the zodiac's conversation. Ruled by Mercury, the messenger, it collects ideas, people and questions — and connects them faster than most signs can follow.

Personality
The Gemini nature
Gemini is mutable air: mental, flexible and constantly in motion. Astrologers associate it with curiosity, humour and a gift for language. It can hold two opposite ideas at once, which makes it a natural translator between people. When the inputs pile up, that same versatility can feel scattered — too many tabs open.

Born on the cusp?
The dates move. Your chart doesn't.
The Sun is in exactly one sign at any moment, but the switch-over shifts by up to a day from year to year. If you were born near May 21 or June 20, only your exact birth time can say which side of the line you're on.
Gemini shares its element with Libra and Aquarius. Its opposite sign is Sagittarius.
Sun-sign traits describe a twelfth of the world. Your Moon, Rising and planets make them yours.
The Big Three
There's more to you than Gemini.
Your Sun sign comes from your birthday. Your Moon and Rising signs need the full date, time and place — and they change far faster.
Sun — your core self and identity. Changes sign about once a month.
Moon — your emotions and inner needs. Changes sign about every 2.3 days.
Rising — how you meet the world. Changes about every two hours on average.
The myth
The story of the twins
The Twins are Castor and Pollux. Pollux was the immortal son of Zeus, Castor the mortal son of King Tyndareus. When Castor was killed, Pollux asked to share his immortality — so the brothers alternate between the heavens and the underworld, and were placed in the stars together.
Babylonian astronomers already called these stars the Great Twins.
The ♊︎ glyph shows two standing figures joined at the top and bottom — the twins.
In the night sky
Gemini among the stars
Its brightest star is Pollux, an orange giant about 34 light-years away with a confirmed giant planet in orbit around it.
Pollux is brighter than Castor, yet Castor got the “Alpha” label. And Castor is not one star but a system of six.
