By downloading or using Velara: AI Astrology & Tarot ("Velara") you accept these terms. Please read the Disclaimer section with particular care — it explains how Velara frames astrological content.
01 Acceptance
These terms apply to everyone who uses the Velara mobile app on iPhone or Android ("Velara", the "Service"). Velara is operated by the operator identified in section 01 of our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Velara. By creating an account you confirm that you are. If you do not accept these terms, you must not use the Service.
02 Service description
Velara produces a birth chart from real astronomical calculations (Swiss Ephemeris) based on your date, time and place of birth, and turns it into a daily, personal experience with artificial intelligence. Data such as planetary positions, houses and aspects always come from deterministic calculation; the AI is instructed to interpret only this data and not to create astrological data of its own. AI features are used only after you allow them, and the calculated parts of the app work without them.
The app also offers charts and compatibility reports for people you save, and additional features based on symbolic systems such as Tarot, I Ching, Numerology, Dream Interpretation, Biorhythm, Moon Calendar, Human Design, BaZi, Mayan, Kabbalah, Ayurveda, Feng Shui, Vastu and Vedic Astrology. All of these are covered by the Disclaimer in this document.
03 Your account
- You create your account with your Apple ID, your Google account or an e-mail address and password.
- You are responsible for the accuracy and confidentiality of your account details.
- You must not share your account with others or open an account on someone else's behalf.
- You can permanently delete your account from within the app at any time (how to delete your account).
- If you notice suspicious activity, let us know.
04 Subscription and payment
Velara's core features are free. The Velara+ subscription unlocks your written daily reading, the full transit system, extended Velara AI usage, charts and direct compatibility reports for the people you save, and the AI interpretations of the Discover features. Velara+ is an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription; the duration you choose is shown on the purchase screen.
The current price, subscription duration and, where applicable, the terms of a free trial or an introductory price (the discounted first period and the price that applies afterwards) are shown on the in-app purchase screen, next to the purchase button. This information is provided by the App Store or Google Play according to your region.
Free trial. The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. You are not charged during the trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the yearly subscription starts and is charged at the end of the trial.
All purchases are made through Apple's App Store or Google Play in-app purchase systems and are subject to the terms of the store you use. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase or, for a free trial, when the trial ends. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, the subscription renews automatically and the charge for the next period is applied within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
05 Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period (or at the end of the free trial):
- iPhone: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Velara.
- Android: Google Play Store app → your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Velara.
Deleting the app or your Velara account does not cancel a subscription — cancel it in the store as described above. Refund requests are assessed by the store you purchased from, under that store's policies; Velara has no access to your payment details.
06 Rules of use
When using Velara you must not:
- Try to use Velara AI for a purpose unrelated to astrology (writing code, homework, translation, etc.).
- Try to steer the model into ignoring its system instructions ("jailbreak").
- Send automated (bot) requests.
- Ask it to produce content that harasses another person or is illegal or harmful.
- Save another person's birth details unless you are entitled to share them with us.
Off-topic messages are detected automatically and politely declined; repeated abuse may lead to suspension of your account.
07 Usage limits
Every use of Velara's AI features has a real cost. To keep the Service sustainable for everyone and to prevent abuse, the following limits apply. These limits are part of the product; by using Velara you accept them.
Daily reading and notification
- Free: your daily scores, today's Moon sign and key transit, and one daily notification with a quick look at your day.
- Velara+: the full written daily reading and a daily notification with your personal summary.
- You choose the notification time, or turn it off, in Profile.
Velara AI chat
- Free: 3 questions per day.
- Velara+: 25 questions per day.
- On both plans: at most 500 characters per message and at most 5 requests per minute.
- Off-topic messages (unrelated to astrology) are not deducted from your questions, but after 10 off-topic attempts per day on the free plan and 30 on Velara+, chat is paused for that day.
Discover features
- Tarot: 1 spread per day on the free plan. Card meanings are always free; only the AI interpretation depends on your plan.
- I Ching: 1 reading per day on the free plan.
- Dream Interpretation: 3 interpretations per month on the free plan.
- History: on the free plan the last 3 Tarot and the last 5 Dream results are shown.
- Biorhythm: 7-day forecast on the free plan, 90-day on Velara+.
- Moon Calendar: on the free plan, navigation ±1 month from the current month.
- Intention Setting: 1 active intention on the free plan, 10 on Velara+. On the free plan, up to 3 personal AI affirmations per day; after that, new intentions get an affirmation from our library.
- Charts of Your People: Velara+, up to 7 saved people.
Compatibility reports
- By invitation (all plans): for compatibility report invitations, at most 3 free reports per month are unlocked per inviting user.
- Direct reports with a saved person: on Velara+, without an invitation and with no monthly limit (only the hourly cap below applies). If your subscription ends, direct reports can no longer be opened, but you can still delete the saved person together with their reports.
Abuse guard rails
Independently of the plan limits above, an hourly cap applies to every account (6 to 20 AI generations per hour depending on the feature), and a daily fair-use limit applies to each account's total use of AI features. Both are set well above normal personal use and are not noticeable in normal use; their purpose is to stop automated requests from consuming the Service. If the daily fair-use limit is reached, AI features pause for up to 24 hours while the rest of the Service keeps working.
Changes to the limits
Limits may change because of service costs, abuse patterns or product improvements. If a change materially and adversely affects your paid subscription, you will be notified in the app before it takes effect and your right to cancel your subscription is preserved. The current limits are always published on this page.
Fair use
The limits are designed for the personal use of a single natural person. Sharing your account, automated access or attempts to circumvent the limits (for example, trying to reset a counter by deleting history) may lead to suspension of your account.
08 Intellectual property and credits
Velara's brand, design and software belong to us. Your birth data and the text you write in Velara belong to you; we process them to operate the product and provide the Service to you (see the Privacy Policy).
Third-party data and software
- Swiss Ephemeris — astronomical calculations use the Swiss Ephemeris, copyright © Astrodienst AG, Switzerland, used under license.
- GeoNames — place names, coordinates and time zones come from GeoNames, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0); we have filtered and reformatted the data.
- Fonts — Sora, Manrope and Cormorant Garamond are used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Ionicons icons are used under the MIT License.
09 Disclaimer
Aura, Ayurveda and similar features are not a medical assessment and may not be used to diagnose, treat or prevent any health condition.
You should not make career, relationship, health or financial decisions based solely on Velara's content; for such decisions you should consider your real-life circumstances and, where necessary, the opinion of the relevant professionals (doctor, financial adviser, lawyer).
AI-generated content may be wrong. It is labelled in the app, and a "Report" option is available where it appears.
10 Changes and termination
We may update these terms; we notify you in the app about material changes. If you violate the rules of use we may suspend or terminate your account.
11 Governing law
Velara is operated from the Republic of Türkiye, and these terms are governed by its laws. The courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul (Central) have jurisdiction over disputes.
Nothing in these terms limits any consumer rights you have under the mandatory laws of the country or state where you live — for example the Australian Consumer Law, the consumer protection laws of the United Kingdom or a Canadian province, or applicable U.S. state law. Where such a law gives you a right to bring a claim in your local courts, that right is preserved.
